I feel my strength and
fight for survival comes
from being Mya’s mum
My name is Mani Coulter, and I was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2002, at the age of 29 and just a few months after giving birth to my daughter, Mya. I immediately underwent a course of chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and radiotherapy to be in remission.
Just over a year later, in January 2005, I was diagnosed with aggressive secondary breast cancer. I was also diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). Since then I have had numerous cycles of chemotherapy and other cancer drugs.
Unfortunately, even after all the treatment that I have had the disease is still progressing. As my options are running out in England I have had to look further afield. The Leonardis Klinik, Germany, have given me hope. They have had a high success rate in stopping the spread of cancer in patients and giving them the best possible chance of remission.
The name “Make My Mummy Better” was chosen for my campaign because it is something that my daughter says. Whenever she makes a wish or says a prayer, she always says that she has wished for or asked God to “Make my mummy better.” I feel that my strength and fight for survival comes from being Mya’s mum.
I hope that once I have beaten this disease I will be able to help others in my situation that need to raise funds to help pay for their treatment.
The treatment that I need at the Leonardis Klinik is very expensive. It will cost tens of thousands of pounds.
My Oncologist at the Leonardis Klinik, Dr Kopic, has put together a treatment plan which he believes will result in me being in remission.

All fundraising will be carried out with the help of the charity “Friends Supporting Friends”.
The charity was set up in response to Nem Bronimann’s case when she was diagnosed with metastasised breast cancer in December 2004. The aim of the charity is to enable friends to help and support a friend or family member facing a life threatening disease and high treatment costs outside the UK.
