A Long Day at the Dunedin
Herceptin, Avastin, Cisplatin & Gemcitabine today at the Dunedin. Arrived at the hospital at 9.30am and didn't leave until 5pm.
Saw my UK Oncologist. He was very helpful. I requested a CT scan and a Paraffin block that the Leonardis Klinik had asked me for. The CT scan was for restaging purposes and the Paraffin block of my tumour is going to be sent to a lab for testing in Germany. My UK Oncologist agreed to arrange them both for me.
We also agreed that having a port in my arm would be sensible. My veins are getting more and more difficult to use. The nurse is going to arrange for the port surgery for the 19th June. I'm a little scared about the operation as it is done under local anesthetic and takes about 2-3 hours. But I don't really have any choice.
