Chemotherapy Issues
Had a phone call from the Dunedin Hospital earlier on in the week informing me that the new chemotherapy combination had been rejected, but I could still have the triple M combination on Friday. This was not acceptable to me. If I had the triple M combination, I would not be able to have the new combination within the next 3 weeks, which I felt was too long to wait. I would rather not have anything today and go and have the Cisplatin and Gemcitabine out in Germany. I didn't want to book anything until I had spoken to my UK Oncologist first.
He, however, did not have any acceptable alternatives. It was not his fault, it's unfortunately just the way things work in this country. Too many rules and regulations. So as soon as I got home from the hospital I spoke to the Leonardis Klink and booked my treatment out there for Monday. They were so helpful. I couldn't believe how well they could organise everything at such short notice. That would not happen here!!
