Appointment with UK Oncologist

8.50am appointment with my UK Oncologist.  I was so nervous.  Wasn't sure how he would feel about me looking into receiving treatment in Germany.

I was very pleasently surprised by his reaction.  He listened to everything I had to say, took on board the chemo-sensitivity test results and agreed to assist me the best he could with my requests.

I also voiced my concerns about the current chemotherapy regime.  The last couple of weeks had been quite tough for me as the cancer felt like it was getting worse.  Some of my cancer (Inflammatory Breast Cancer) is visable on my skin.  So it is very easy for me to see if things are getting worse.  It had been steadly getting more and more aggrivatged, which led me to believe that the treatment wasn't working.  My Oncologist didn't feel that I had given the current chemotherapy regime a proper chance, as I had only had two cycles to date.  I told him that I felt strongly about changing the regime and that it would make sense to use the chemo-sensitivity test results to decide on the next course of action.  We agreed to try a combination of Cisplatin and Gemcitabine.  He said that he would make the neccesary arrangements.

All in all, I felt that the meeting went very well.
