Panicked in the Thermotherapy Machine
Pally accompanied me this time. Like the others that have gone with me in the past, she was great. She even brought with her a packed lunch, because she knew that I was struggling with the food at the Klinik.
I didn't cope very well with the thermotherapy. I panicked and had to ask for the machine to be stopped at 38.8°C. I was so disappointed in myself even though it was only a couple of degrees below the required temperature. Over the last few days I had been feeling quite nauseous and tired. Before I got into the machine I was feeling quite sick, the high temperature just made it worse. I felt that if I didn't ask for it to be turned off I would have thrown up. As soon as it was turned off I felt better. So I stayed wrapped up in the machine for the rest of the duration. At least that was something.
Dr. Draczynski said that I had to have my bloods checked Friday 4th and Wednesday 9th April back in England. It was really important that the neutrophils, white blood cells, and red blood cells were monitored closely. Any sign of infection and I should seek immediate medical attention. The combination of Cisplatin and Gemcitabine is known to seriously depress blood counts and can lead to serious infections.
