Tuesday 2nd June 2009

Felt quite low and irritable over the last week.  As it was school half term I was at my parents for the first half of the week and my poor mum and dad got the brunt of my bad mood.  Simon had to put up with it for the latter part of the week.  Thankfully the sun was out at the weekend which made me feel a little happier.

I think my body is going through some big hormonal changes and this is partly to blame for my bad mood and feeling low.  Chemotherapy can cause a temporary menopause (which has happened to me 3 times in the last 6 years).  The reverse happens when you stop chemotherapy.  My last chemo session was in December 2008 and my body is still adjusting to not having chemo.

Went for my PET/CT scan at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford today.   The whole procedure takes about 2 hours – a lot of lying still.  I was really nervous about having the cannula inserted into a vein in my foot.  My hands/arms can’t be used because the lymph glands under both arms have been removed.  Anyway, it all went well.  Just have to wait for results now.
