First Cisplatin and Gemcitabine Combination

Cycle 1 and Day 1 of Cisplatin and Gemcitabine.  Simon was able to go with me to Germany because Mum and Dad came to look after Mya.  Both Simon and I have agreed that one of our priorities is to try and keep as much stability and normality in Mya's life as possible.  This means that wherever possible Simon will stay and look after Mya and I will have to try and find someone else to accompany me.  This time no one was else was able to come with me but luckily Dad had the week off work.  Also Mya absolutely adores my dad, so it would actually be a treat for her to have them come and look after her.  She has much more fun with them than she does with us.  So I didn't feel too bad.

Decided to have a cannula put into my hand this time as the PICC line had been so slow on my last visit.  It was quite painful.  My veins are really thin as they have been used so much over the years.

Simon was a star.  He kept my mind off the treatment by chatting to me the whole time.  The thermotherapy and chemo went well.

I've got Herceptin and Avastin on Friday in the UK.  I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time in hospitals in the next few months, whether it be in Germany or in the UK!!!
